Demo
1 - Basic DCM Demo
This demo shows how the DCM (Dynamic Console Manager) component
can be used for console automation. The AVI file shows a JCL
job consisting of a number of steps.
The JCL should be viewed whilst referring to the DCM Rules.
DCM Message Filters and Rulesets define message trapping settings
and subsequent actions.
Demo
1 - AVI File
Each
step is separated by a wait of approximately 5 seconds. Increasing
in complexity, the functions displayed range from simple message
manipulation to the submission of batch jobs/operator commands
based on message receipt.
Demo
1 - DCM Rules
This
Text File shows the DCM Rulesets required for the Basic DCM
Demo.
Demo
1 - DCM Basic JCL
Sample
JCL which generates WTO messages that are captured by the above
DCM (SYSLOG) rulesets.
Demo 2 - DCM Extended Demo
Demo 2 shows some of the newer functions available within
DCM, primarily additional message colours and presentation
attributes. The AVI file shows a JCL job consisting of a number
of steps.
The JCL should be viewed whilst
referring to the DCM Rules.
DCM Message Filters and Rulesets define message trapping settings
and subsequent actions.

Demo 3
- System Shutdown Demo
Demo 3 shows an automated system shutdown.
A single command (F A,EXEC=SHUTDOWN) is used to execute the
process.
The SHUTDOWN command group issues operator commands.
Messages received can be acted upon via the use of DCM Message
Filters and Rulesets.
Demo
3- AVI File
This
AVI file details how a single command (F A,EXEC=SHUTDOWN) can
be used to initiate a string of events.
The SHUTDOWN command group issues operator commands.
Messages received can be acted upon via the use of DCM Message
Filters and Rulesets.
Demo
3 - Shutdown Rules
DCM Message
Filters and Rulesets define message trapping settings and subsequent
actions.
Demo
3 - Shutdown Command Group
A single Command
Group can be used to create 'macro-type' operator commands,
allowing complex processes to be easily automated.
